The Way of the Shaman
During the 2-day basic experiential workshop, participants are introduced to Core Shamanism, the universal methods of the shaman to enter the Shamanic State of Consciousness (SSC) for healing and problem solving. Particular emphasis is on the classic shamanic journey, one of the most remarkable visionary methods used by humankind to explore the hidden universe, otherwise known only through myth and dream. Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming and other techniques for awakening dormant spiritual abilities, including connections with Nature. Practices include comparisons by participants of their discoveries in shamanic journeys as well as being introduced to shamanic divination and healing. You are also provided with methods for journeying to meet and study with your own individual spirit helpers in non-ordinary reality, a classic step in shamanic practice. Participants learn how the journey is utilized to restore spiritual power and health, and how shamanism can be applied in contemporary daily life to help heal oneself and others. Two days, usually 9:00am-6:00pm.

Theoretical and practical introduction to Core Shamanism, its methodology and ethics
The shamanic journey as the essential and distinctive technique of shamanism.
Establishing contact with one’s own spirit helpers
Shamanic methods for divination and healing work
Initiating shamanic practice and an independent spirituality

Completion of this workshop with an authorized FSS Faculty Member qualifies participants to take advanced 2-day FSS workshops.
